Leading has acquired the will writing and probate business of Notary Express, the conveyancing and will writing firm based in Norwich with satellite offices around the UK.

The business will be merged with Norfolk Will Writing, the estate planning arm of Leading. Norfolk Will Writing provides will writing, LPAs, probate and estate administration services.

Notary Express was forced to close after being unable to renew its professional indemnity insurance, which led to an enforced 60-day run off of the existing business. During this time a request to the Solicitors Regulation Authority was made that resulted in the approval to transfer the business to Leading.

Leading’s director, Jamie Playford, commented on the acquisition: “We are always looking for possible acquisitions and the Notary Express business became available at short notice. We worked quickly with the Notary Express director and his agent to ensure a smooth transfer of the business and to ensure clients had a seamless service. We are all pleased with the outcome to clients, and this addition will add to the expansion plans for our will writing and probate services. We now have a wider reach to clients in Norfolk and London, where the Notary Express clients are primarily based.”

The acquisition does not include the conveyancing side of the Notary Express business, and any enquiries regarding this should be directed to contact@notaryexpress.co.uk
