Leading have acquired the long-standing and trusted estate planning business, Norfolk Will Writing Services.

The acquisition has seen the existing team of three join Leading and Norfolk Will Writing’s director and founder, Robin Colton, retained as a consultant. The team are supported by four new business support roles at Leading and see the team move to Leading’s head office in Norwich.

The business provides estate planning services including will writing and power of attorney documents, as well as probate and estate administration services to clients primarily in East Anglia but also has a number of clients outside the region.

Wills & Estates Planner, Annette Prigmore, said of the move: “After almost 15 years working with clients of Norfolk Will Writing across East Anglia, this is a really exciting change for the business and one which will secure investment to grow the business for the longer term. We are all very excited to be working in conjunction with the existing Leading team and talking to new and existing clients and professional contacts about how we can support them.”

Claire Pitt, who joined Leading in late 2020 as Business Manager and will lead the team’s expansion plans with professional contacts across Norfolk and Suffolk, added: “We have some really exciting plans to grow the business. The first few months we have kept things rather quiet as we integrated the two businesses together and worked on the updated branding and I think this demonstrates our commitment to quality and professionalism that we want all of our clients and contacts to experience. ”

Jamie Playford, Director, and Alex Dunton, Senior Manager, both obtained qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 2020 to carry out the reserved legal service of probate.

Jamie added: “We have been planning this diversification for a little while and the Norfolk Will Writing business was a really good fit for both Leading and the Norfolk Will Writing team and, importantly, the clients of the business. Lockdown provided some challenges to making everything happen, but the team have worked really hard and we are looking forward to offering these services to existing and new clients and professional contacts, and the initial response has been very positive indeed. We are looking to partner with accountants, IFAs and other professionals to support their clients in this area.”
